Horizons at Foote, in partnership with The Foote School, advances educational equity through a robust academic and enrichment program that builds on long-term partnerships with families and communities to provide a joyful, safe, and inspiring learning environment that empowers students from New Haven Public Schools to thrive in an ever-changing world. Students convene at The Foote School every summer for an intensive six-week program of academics and enrichment, beginning in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. The Horizons program has been proven to increase school attendance and grades, improve students' self-esteem, cultivate a love of learning, and its students have a 97% high school graduation rate. Horizons' students receive full scholarships to participate within the program, funded through independent donations and grants. Using the facilities of The Foote School, in small classes with dedicated and motivated teachers, Horizons’ students are submerged within an engaging and supportive environment and are provided with an opportunity to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.
