This project is funded by Government of China and implementing in three countries including Nepal. As a Natural Resource Economist, I am responsible to Conducting market assessments and analysis of commercial viability of linking diversified agriculture crops and sustainably harvested Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) from multi-use climate resilient forests to local markets for informing watershed restoration intervention in Nepal, identify alternative livelihood options and additional source of income for households in the project areas, based on diversified agriculture and sustainably harvested NTFPs generated by multi-use climate resilient forests, assist in developing sustainable financing plans based on in-depth market assessments to leverage additional funds for maintaining and up scaling ecosystem restoration in Nepal, e.g. eco-tourism and aquaculture, carbon trading, non-timber forest products (NTFPs), Payment for Ecosystem Services.

As Senior Policy advisor (intermediate). This is project is funded by BMU, Germany and implemented by UNDP, UNEP and IUCN in three countries Nepal, Uganda and Peru. In EbA Nepal Project, I am responsible to undertake an initial analysis and review of the policy, institution and expenditure environment and identify opportunities to feed into public sector policy and finance processes and related initiative, preparing materials for training and outreach to make the case for developing capacity to use/roll out targeted products with key role-players in target sectors, review policy briefs of cost benefit analysis to support policy makers to integrate EbA in decision making process.

As the National Consultant, I was responsible to ensure successful preparation, implementation and follow-up of a field mission in Nepal, as part of the overall assignment on “Assessing Effectiveness of the Swiss International Cooperation in Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Interventions 2000-2012”. Case Study Coordinator for Nepal. This project is funded by IDRC, Canada and implemented by IIED London on “case study of Economics of Climate Change Adaptation in Water Sector in developing countries. The basic object of the study was to show how economic tools can be used for a stakeholder-focused approach to planning and evaluating adaptation to climate change involving case studies in Nepal, Bangladesh, Morocco, Malawi and Bolivia. I was based in ISET- Nepal.Major Outcomes of the project: Stakeholder-focused cost benefit analysis in the water sector: A guidance report (2012) and Economics of climate change in the water sector in Nepal A stakeholder-focused approach A case study of the Rupa Watershed, Kaski, Nepal (2012).
