One of my MCA faculty recognized my ability and passion and introduced me to Prof. B.B. Chakraborty. He was among the finance faculty in IIM (Kolkota).The objective of the research paper being written was to compare ANN models Vs statistical methods for bankruptcy prediction. This was based on some principal factors.The project involved PCA, Factor Analysis on the variables to identify the contributing variables. Once the variables were identified the data was run through various ANN models (Neural Nets) and compared to a Logistic regression model.I was focused more on the business application side and results more than programming the ANN's themselves. Infact used a tool called "NeuroSol" to develop the networks. At the time, I was a bit disappointed with using ready made networks as my passion was more driven to programming the networks, however I appreciate the application aspect today. -
