Claims data analysis often involved using actuarial techniques that I learned during my secondment with the Portfolio Optimisation team.- For each of these accounts, this analysis culminated in two internal peer reviews: one with the product head, followed by another with a senior underwriter or in some cases the CUO - each of whom I would talk through my analysis and proposed written line, while fielding any questions.Secondments- Worked closely with and seconded to the Portfolio Optimisation team to learn more about pricing Casualty business.- Also seconded to the claims team, during which I learnt about how and when ACRs are applied, how claims get processed through the bureau and internally, and the overall triage process, as well as spending time with an ex-Kennedy’s solicitor learning about the basis of UK motor reserves and how multipliers are applied to calculate loss of earnings and pensions.Networking- Built key broker and client relationships through active networking and various industry events.Handover- Created an extensive document to help hand over all of my administrative responsibilities, which can be utilised going forward as part of future handovers. - Co-ordinated phased handover to our new graduate through over 10 hours of pre-prepared, interactive training sessions and gradual transition of responsibilities while maintaining oversight and responsibility for speed and data quality Show less
