Group Director- Business Development Responsible for all M&A and new Business development activities across Bharti Group .Prior to this role was Chief, Projects and Transformation, Airtel Africa,was responsible for strategy, planning and rollout of all new projects in Africa, such as M Commerce,TowerCo, DTH, submarine cable systems, cable landing station and new acquisitions in Africa etc.Immediately after the acquisition from ZAIN in June 2010, took on the position of Integrations Director and was responsible for successfully integrating the ZAIN operations in 15 countries into Airtel.Prior to the Africa experience worked in various capacities for the Bharti Group in India.My last assignment in India was as Director - Projects at Bharti Airtel Limited, with responsibility for new projects.Earlier positions were:• Executive Director – DTH Services, during which he successfully launched Airtel’s Direct To Home (DTH) services on a pan-India basis;• Executive Director – Carriers, spearheading the Company’s foray into Long Distance, both National and International Operations in addition to submarine cables (May 2000 to March 2007);• Chief Executive Officer at Bharti BT Internet Ltd, an ISP, operating under the name Mantra Online (April 1998 - May 2000);• Chief Operating Officer of Bharti Cellular (April 1993 – March 1998);• General Manager with United Pharma International (May 1983 – March 1993).Arjun holds an MBA from the University of Madras, India and a PG Diploma in International Trade from IIFT, New Delhi, India.
