Developing exploration and trajectory planning algorithms for drones deployed for reconnaissance to save lives of service members and civilians! Led software development efforts for the Trajectory Planning team of key user features on the robot side for our first generation product, Nova 1. Research and Development of exploration and planning algorithms for 2nd gen product, Nova 2 (first commercial drone capable of complete indoor autonomous exploration of 3D environments).  Co-developed scenario testing infrastructure, laid rigorous user testing flight plans that helped achieve 95+% critical reliability consistently over 4 major software releases. Designed requirements for test fixtures with Hardware team to assess thrust performance and robustness to wind disturbances.

As a researcher at CERLAB, i was a part of a 6 member team that was designing and building an autonomous welding robot for a japanese ship building company. The welding operation was otherwise carried out by engineers in inaccessible locations.My contribution:Software:Developed the localization stack for a mobile ground robot using Lidar Odometry & Particle Filter on a pre-generated Static Map.Motion Planning for 6dof manipulator arm: Generating trajectories and control of welding torch tip for accurate welding. Worked with tools like Gazebo and MoveIt to simulate trajectories and welding routines.

Project Title: Design improvement of High Pressure Gasoline Pump Reduced deflection of “packing carrier” (a design feature of the pump) by 51% which accounted for maximum share of rejections. Achieved this by theoretical modelling of the sub assembly and simulation in FEA package . Simulation was also used to carry out Design of Experiments. Developed the design criteria for a 4-lobed cam which would drive the next generation gasoline pump for a 4-8 cylinder engine. Hand calculations and FEA simulations were used to validate design proposal.

Project Title: Design standardization to achieve cost reduction of Magnetic Resonance (MR) parts manufactured in Mexico The end objective of this was to source parts from India for a MR table manufactured in Mexico. Achieved this by standardizing designs of select parts of the Mexico-manufactured MR with high savings potential without compromising on functionality. Cost reduction of 0.5mil USD was estimated on implementation of this sourcing transfer. Participated in supplier evaluation and selection process.Reading a detailed design drawing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances , should costing, concept of Total Cost (or landing cost) are some of the skills i acquired during this project.
