ARTC is a Government Business Enterprise that manages the National Standard Gauge Interstate network in South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales and is a vital component of the national freight logistics chain (www.artc.com.au). My role focuses on identifying business growth and network expansion opportunities for ARTC and providing strategic and commercial analysis of opportunities to diversify and expand the forward revenue base and value. I also conduct market research and develop reports to inform the Executive and Board on future trends and developments in the business and industry environment that may present strategic opportunities or risks to the business.

As Commercial Development Manager, I led the provision of pricing strategy, revenue budgeting, regulatory compliance modelling and advisory services for the ARTC business units.In addition, I provided analysis and formulated business cases on specific commercial opportunities as requested by the Board and Executive

My role was to partner with the General Manager, Corporate Strategy to develop, articulate and publish ARTC’s long term infrastructure strategies. I was reponsible for the commercial analysis of various additions and upgrades to the infrastructure to cater for medium and long term capacity demand.

As part of my MBA at the AGSM, I was the content leader of a 3 member team selected by Telstra Wholesale to conduct a strategic analysis of the telecommunications market over a 3-5 year time frame.We undertook market and industry analysis to identify new business opportunities across the existing telecommunications industry and potential entry into adjacent markets. This project was awarded the 2009 AGSM Alumni Management Project Prize.

Itech is a niche engineering services firm specialising in providing solutions and products for process control and industrial automation (www.itechcorp.com.au). I commenced work with Itech as an Engineering Intern and over the years was promoted to Product Marketing Engineer.As Product Marketing Engineer, I was responsible for the national sales and marketing strategy for the Hakko Industrial touchscreen products. As Software Engineer, I was the lead Safety Automation engineer and commissioned various automation projects for clients including PGH Bricks, CSL Australia, Kellogs, Arnotts and Gosford City Council.
