Map-Reduce, C# .Net, Azure Compute Designed and implemented the complete map-reduce processing pipeline to ingest, filter, model, conflate and publish public WiFi hotspot information. Pioneered efforts to improve ingestion of new data without downtime and automating daily business intelligence reports. Launched the self-host user leaderboard to gamify and expedite user data collection that enabled bootstrapping the service.Orion Positioning ServiceService provides Wi-Fi and cell tower based positioning to all Windows Phone and Windows devices. Prototyped the first version of the Orion service using SQL server backend and later converted it to a fully scalable service using a Map-Reduce based backend pipeline. Improved Wi-Fi positioning coverage by working with Microsoft research to develop and implement ‘Neighbor Refiner’ (Patent 8237612 explained below) feature.
