Ark Development Organization (ADO) is a local community-based NGO in Ghana. ADO is a health education, governance, and environmentally focused organization committed to improving the lives of deprived women, children and the disabled through capacity building, evidence-based advocacy and participatory innovative programmes. Since our establishment 20 years ago, ADO have been using social and behaviour change communication, rights based approaches and participatory approaches such as house-to-house sensitization, radio talk shows, in-school education, durbars, citizens WhatsApp sensitization platforms, focus group discussions, dialogue meetings and community forums etc. to empower disadvantaged people, and community structures such as women groups, girls, children, Persons With Disability and People Living with Disease (Diabetes, Skin-NTDS, NCDs, HIV/AIDS and TB) to create an enabling environment for improved participation, health outcomes and standard of living.
