Sr. Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager – Asia Operations will be responsible for leading ADI’s EHS programs for our factory operations in Asia ( Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand)Developing and enforcing a workplace culture of health and safety throughout our Asia facilities, implementing EHS programs and policies, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, monitoring regulatory developments, and assessing and auditing site programs.

• Developing and executing health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.• Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety.• Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.• Responsible for overseeing and leading the work of a group of people in many instances.• Responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources within a business unit.• Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work and other legislation relevant to the Companies business.• Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Director responsible for Health and Safety any relevant new legislation.• Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organization.• Ensure that all “assessments” as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.• To recommend control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees.• Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of all the company’s operations.• Immediately contact the Director responsible for health and safety if situations are found, that in the opinion of the Safety Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.• To notify the Director responsible for health and safety if the corrective action agreed after any workplace inspection is not implemented by the arranged date.• To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.• To arrange Health surveillance as instructed.• To highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES-TRAINING - Establishes and maintains ESH training system for employees, contractors and suppliers (TNA, Implementation, Evaluation & Follow ups). Documents and prepares corresponding report.WASTE MANAGEMENT - Oversees the solid waste management. Devices action plans for problems encountered or if there are new requirement. Spearheads scrap bidding activities.-Awareness & Information - Maintain employees' ESH awareness through bulletin boards, accident information board, newsletter and festivities.-ESH Monitoring & Control - Conducts ESH Index. Analyses and communicates results to concerned department/section and maintains records of findings. Recommends improvements and monitors actions.-Safety Management - Organizes and maintains Emergency Response Team's (ERT) objectives and missions. Organizes corresponding program and drills.-Health Management - Checks and assesses APE findings and acknowledges medical reports for transferred and promoted employees. Assists the clinic on monthly programs/activities.-Documentation - Maintains the department's controlled documents and procedures. Updates regularly to suit prevailing conditions.-Others - Strictly implements ESH rules; participates to related audits.-Others - Promotes Optodev core values and Essilor culture.-Others - Undertakes other duties as appropriate within his/her competence, as required by superior from time to time.- Acts as a Behavior-Based Safety Coordinator.-Launch and Implements Safety Programs such as :- Behavior-Based Safety Program- Near Miss Report - ESH Monthly Inspection - ZERO Incident Program- Submits report to DOLE for the Safety Committee Meeting .- Manages group such as BBS and Working Group .

As Laboratory Supervisor some of the defined duties and responsibilities are: - Mainly responsible in supervising Laboratory Shift Engineers , Laboratory Analyst, Laboratory Controller, IPP ( Isopropyl per carbonate ) Operator and Monomer Preparator to ensure smooth operations and optimum efficiency in workplace. - Spearheaded the research, development and improvement of chemical experiments as well analyses of CR 607 and prior to the production of ophthalmic lenses. - Developed, established and documented written inspection and test plan to define and implement the quality control points as well as methods that will be utilized.- Develops and conducts programs of sampling as well as analysis using the techniques such as spectroscopy, physical and chemical analysis to ensure that the international standards are met. - Was solely responsible in evaluating incoming raw materials and processes involved to determine the production specifications and procedures as well as to maintain the quality standard of raw materials, chemical intermediates and products. - Analyzed operating procedures and equipment functions to reduce processing time and operation cost.- Ensures that quality and optimize resources.- Ensures correctness of the batch calculations and preparation of monomer.- Implements and sees to it that preventive operational procedures are properly followed.- Collaborates with department supervisors and process engineers in the development of chemical procurement, construction, inspection, maintenance and development of standards as well as providing solutions to deviant operations and processes.- Schedules man power requirements based on the agreed production itineraries and maintenance work. - Trains staff in their respective job duties and areas of responsibility.- Oversees the over-all operation of Uncoat Production Raw Material Department to preserve the most favorable company image and standard.

Appointed as an ISO Coordinator, who is responsible in overseeing the over-all activities of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Department.- Conducts series of modules and other forms of information drive to orient employees of ISO Quality System.- Ensures effective implementation of quality management system in conformity with the ISO 9002:2000. -Instigates approved system as well as counter measurements in all areas of quality control operation, stator assembly process, coating process and winding process to upgrade existing procedures and processes. - Conducts initial assessment of concurrent quality system set- up to identify areas for improvement. - Comes up with improved schemes to meet work schedules and production deadlines with other departments. - Establishes an independent process control check to ensure that products comply with food legislation.- Continuously monitors the effectiveness of the established system.- Trained staff for job duties, safety procedures and company policies for smooth flow of production.- Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary to promote work continuity.

Served as a Senior Quality Controller whose main responsibility- is to maintain quality products that are produced by performing chemical analyses, experiments, and tests to ensure conformity with the international standard specifications set by the company.- Standardizes chemical reagents and test solutions prior to conducting analysis.- Conducts analyses on the incoming raw materials, processed water and manufactured supplies - Establishes and maintain quality standards of beverage products produced by the company. - Establishes in process analysis and inspection of the product to introduce preventive and counter measures to prevent discrepancies in operation.- Performs organoleptic tests and gas chromatography analysis on alcoholic samples.- Monitors and implements quality controls in- process bottling procedures.- Researches and develops Brand Value Engineering Options to optimize resources and work force efficiency. - Streamlined programs and methods of analysis to meet production deadlines.- Conducts training and provides assistance in Wastewater analysis in relation to monitoring of treatment plants. - Oversees blender, distillery process engineer and machine operators to ensure smooth operations at all times. Also holds the position as an IQA Chairman - to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the ISO 9000 system by quarterly conducting system audit and providing programs for addressing NCR’s (Non- Conformity Report) on time.- Utilizes ISO 9000 guidelines systems as standard reference in conducting analysis and inspection.- Operates, maintains and calibrates laboratory instruments and equipment in preparing solutions, reagents and sample formulations.- Trained staff for job duties, safety procedures and company policies for smooth flow of operations. - Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.

Hired as a Junior Analyst whose main responsibility - is to perform analysis of incoming raw materials and finished product. - Prepares and standardize reagents prior to the analysis of such. - Conducts inventory for the chemicals as well as for the laboratory equipment and instruments that will be utilized. - Coordinates with plant engineer as regards to the analysis result on flour sample.- Assumes supervisory function in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
