Short-term project for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Proofread, copy edited, and performed quality assurance on translated documents, comparing English versions with versions in Spanish, Chinese, and Korean.

Primarily through contracts with EnVeritas Group, a global digital marketing agency, I have copy edited, line-edited, fact-checked, or QAed (quality assurance) approximately 2,800 online articles and app content, primarily in the fields of hotels and travel, as well as fitness, medicine, and business. In addition to checking grammar, punctuation, syntax, and accuracy, I ensure the writing flows well, eschews cliches and clunky sentences, and, most importantly, is clear, unambiguous, and engaging. I work with a variety of style guides, mostly AP-based or in-house. I am well-versed in SEO, keywords, and content-management systems (CMS). Clients though the EnVeritas Group have included the world's largest search-engine company (numerous projects), InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Marriott International, Hotels.com, Expedia.com, Robert Half International, MYXfitness, and Clemson University.

Includes Expedia.com and Hotels.com, both part of Expedia, Inc. Online content: Held lead role in writing and editing approximately 3,000 e-commerce “Infosites” (microsites) for hotels and specialty properties worldwide. These Infosites provided useful, scannable, accurate, and relevant information, written in an engaging style and compliant with company's tone of voice. Objective was to help consumers find the hotel that was right for them, and to drive conversion (bookings) on our sites. Developed several comprehensive style and tone-of-voice guides to reflect changes in content strategies. Used SEO judiciously without impeding readability. Collaborated with vendors to create top-notch content for Hotels.com and Expedia.com points of sale. Maintained highly productive and positive relationships with hotel partners, including touring dozens of properties throughout the U.S. Travel Content: Wrote hundreds of brief descriptions that encapsulated the attractions and character of a neighborhood or city. Management: Interviewed, hired, trained, and supervised contractors/junior writers. Sent out weekly Style Dispatches (usually with a humorous tone) to keep them abreast of style changes or alert them to common errors. Project management included developing best practices, workflow/scheduling, prioritizing, and identifying hotels and markets that would most benefit from special attention.
