Arlene is passionate about driving the development of the tech industry and growing digital problem-solving capabilities in Africa. She has always loved exploring the power of mathematics and coding to transform the way we face challenges.After seven years as an investment banker, Arlene left the finance world to start WeThinkCode_ and pursue her dream of democratising and revolutionising education in order to deliver top tech talent. She is the co-founder and managing director of Dire Wolf, a bespoke insurance advisory firm focusing on niche insurance products for corporates and high-net-worth individuals. Arlene is also the co-founder of BiB, Africa’s digital audio library that preserves local literary heritage and shares African stories with the world. Arlene won the Forbes Woman Africa Technology and Innovation Award in 2019 and was featured on the cover of Forbes Women Africa as one of the 20 New Wealth Creators on the African continent in 2019. She is currently serving as the chair of the non-profit Board of Click Learning, was selected for the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) by the US Consulate in 2017 and is a global ambassador for She Loves Tech. When she isn’t behind her laptop, she spends her time on a mountain bike, in her trail running shoes, ticking off her travel bucket list, or reading three books at the same time. Arlene holds a M.Sc. Business Mathematics & Informatics.
