As the Principal Trainer for the Bayhealth Patient Access department, I was integral in creating an On boarding Training program for new hire registrars in the Emergency, Outpatient and Insurance Verification departments. I was also tasked to provide and ongoing training strategy for the Patient Access staff. I coordinated with the EPIC training team to create a cohesive workflow for EPIC users and achieve improved department workflow. I was the primary contact for registration staff throughout all of Bayhealth Medical Center locations.As Quality Assurance Specialist I performed observational training to ensure all required documentation was being obtained and distributed. I performed monthly productivity audits of staff to ensure all procedures were being followed for eligibility verification. I also conducted monthly audits of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire to ensure correct eligibility and coordination of coverage mandated by CMS. I worked side by side with the Supervisors of my team to identify training opportunities and provide additional support to the staff when needed ensuring department KPI’s were met. I provided feedback to the EPIC team to ensure the workflow was conducive to the needs of the departments.Established Contributions:Principal Trainer- I developed real time classroom Onboarding training program for the Patient Access department. In coordination with the education department, developed online HealthStream modules for Outpatient testing competencies and organizational training for Cash Drawer and POS Collections.
