I am currently a department manager in Penney’s in Drogheda. I started working in retail in Penneys, in the Marshes Shopping Centre in Dundalk since 2014 as a sales assistant part time during school and college. I was employed for Christmas staff and was later given a permanent part time contract. From working here, I have gained many skills which I can use throughout life such as teamwork, communication skills and customer service which I believe is important in the business environment being able to interact with people of any age.When I completely my college course with a 1:1 first class honors degree, I was asked if I would be interested in becoming a trainee manager, I was interviewed in Dublin head office and was later given the position of a trainee manager in Drogheda, I worked here for a year and 3 months, then moving to Navan as a department manager. I worked here for a year exactly and moved back to Drogheda on a permanent position as a department manager. I am currently in Drogheda and being trained as one of the HR partners for the store. I have been faced with many problems and have dealt with them giving me more experience on how to handle many different situations, which I feel I am suited to the business environment and enjoy the work I do.I graduated from college in 2017 with a 1:1 first class Business Studies honours degree in Dundalk Institution of Technology. From doing this course I have knowledge in many fields such as; financial accounting, human resource management, strategic management and operations management along with IT skills. I am interested in gaining as much knowledge and experience as I can to better myself. I believe I am a dependable and focused. I enjoy working as part of a team as I am determined and motivated person and I enjoy interacting with others and learning new things. I am hardworking, positive, punctual and honest and do everything to the very best of my ability. I can work under pressure and I always strive to achieve the highest possible standard at any given task. During my time in college I have worked in many teams and individually which I have enjoyed both and feel it is always very important to give my very best.
