I am a first-generation Hispanic and the first in my family to pursue a career in accounting and part of Professional Program in Accounting (PPA). I earned my associate degree in accounting while completing high school and am now working toward my bachelor's degree, which I will complete in May 2026, followed by my master’s in accounting in May 2027. Coming from an immigrant family has shaped my perspective and aspirations. My mom instilled in me the belief that giving to others brings good in return, so since seventh grade, I’ve been volunteering. Through this, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the work organizations do to help those in need.Even though math can be challenging, I’ve always enjoyed it because there's always a solution. I developed an interest in accounting because I want to contribute to the success of businesses. Currently, I am in my second year at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, where I’m pursuing my accounting degree with the support of a full ride from the Jindal Young Scholar scholarship.Beyond accounting and volunteering, I enjoy playing the guitar and picking up new hobbies, such as drawing. I’ve been playing the guitar for seven years, which has helped me manage stress, boost creativity, and improve my cognitive skills. Learning new things has also enhanced my social connections and time management.As I continue my studies at UT Dallas, I’m excited to sharpen my skills and gain more knowledge about accounting.
