As sections editor of a legal media organization that covers civil trials across the nation, my role involves leadership in both editorial and marketing divisions. My responsibilities include: *Overseeing and managing editorial coverage across CVN's sections *Supervising full-time and freelance legal reporters and correspondents. *Targeting and sourcing trials while prioritizing coverage based on news value and importance to the company and its subscribers using viewership and engagement data. *Developing overall editorial direction while overseeing the site's editorial calendar. *Overseeing tone, style, and content of sectional news coverage on CVN news pages, based on analysis of reader engagement data. *Curating video content for CVN and its editorial partners. *Covering section-critical cases by producing news stories and analysis across a range of media, including print, audio and video. *Overseeing the content and production of more than 7 newsletters that go out to more than 10,000 subscribers. * Expanding and strengthening relationships with law firms, judges, and media organizations. * Developing and overseeing messaging for marketing initiatives to new and existing customers through email outreach. * Researched, wrote, and edited a variety of business and legal subject matter for client websites, blogs, and associated online articles.
