Flexera acquired my startup Meta SaaS on May 2nd 2018. Meta SaaS (now Flexera SaaS Manager) is the most comprehensive enterprise solution for optimizing SaaS spend and reducing risk. Flexera now dwarfs all other Software Asset Management (SAM) suppliers in SaaS spend management depth and breadth.During my brief time at Flexera, post-acquisition as a VP level strategist, I was involved with M&A, product, sales, marketing, analyst engagements, and GTM strategy.Eventually, after successfully completing the integration of Meta SaaS into Flexera, I returned to my calling as a founder and entrepreneur.

Meta SaaS (Acquired by Flexera) was the leading software asset management platform purpose-built for the cloud. I conceived the company, invented the category, assembled the team, defined go-to-market strategy, raised our seed funding round from investors such as Mark Cuban, Barracuda Networks, Chicago Ventures, Deep Space Ventures, Capital Factory, and others. Finally, I led the company to a successful exit in May 2018.

App Suey was a new type of consolidation company, providing liquidity to small independent app developers.

Departing was an independent sales and marketing platform for the funeral industry. Through an innovative direct sales approach, Departing aided consumers in planning, saving, and paying for their own funerals. I raised the seed round and crafted the business model but in the end, Departing did not succeed.

iCall was a B2C and wholesale VoIP calling platform that was available for desktops and mobile devices. iCall provided low cost and ad-supported, no-cost calling services to consumers.More than 5 MILLION consumers used our services, and our network carried more than 1 BILLION minutes per month of voice.My proudest moment at iCall was when I traveled to Washington D.C. with the Electronic Frontier Foundation to lobby and present testimony before the US copyright office in opposition to a law that would have made jailbreaking your iPhone a crime. We succeeded, and as a result, you can now jailbreak your phone with impunity.iCall was acquired in 2012.

Click Feel Media was a leader in the affiliate marketing and merchant processing space. At its peak it had more than 8000 affiliates and generated more than 50MM in annual revenue. I bootstrapped this company with my own money and took no investment.In 2007 I moved to a board role to focus on iCall.

iDownload was a desktop advertising affiliate network and sister company to Click Feel Media. Our network of 1100 affiliate marketers generated more than 75,000,000 users. In addition to advertising, iDownload licensed, white labeled and sold anti-virus products from well known vendors such as Bit Defender.
