Manages assigned Administration department operations and work initiated in anticipation of needs or problems at the request of the Town Administrator, Assistant Town Administrator, Development Administrator and/or Mayor and Councilmembers. Considerable judgment and independent action in establishing and adapting work procedures to new situations is required. Exercises of a high level of discretion, and the application of administrative and business management skills.* Serves as a liaison between the Town Administrator and Assistant Town Administrator and public officials and Department Directors. Communicates direction from Town Administrator and/or Assistant Town Administrator. Maintains cooperative working relations with all Town Departments, elected and appointed officials, the public and governmental agencies.* Collects, complies, prepares and disseminates confidential information used in EEOC Investigations for the Assistant Town Administrator/EEO Compliance Officer.* Receives and investigates/screens, routes and troubleshoots all incoming calls to the Town Administrator’s Office / Administration Department regarding citizen inquiries and/or complaints. Answers inquiries when able. Maintains system of tracking citizens’ compliments and/or complaints until resolved.* Arranges travel for Town Administrator and/or Assistant Town Administrator calculating cost, reimbursement and preparing narrative report of trip pursuant to purchasing procedures.* Coordinates meetings, conferences or workshops, locates appropriate space and handles the mechanics of major meetings – Management Retreats, District Community Forums; etc.* Serves as Secretary of the Strategic Planning Committee.
