Carrying out the design and auditing of Security & Fire Alarm Systems.

As Technical Director at Viscount Alarms I was responsible for all aspects of systems compliance and training of systems installers. In additon I also had responsibilities for day-to-day running of the business including finance, HR and IT.

In 1999 I became a Technical manager, in this role I took on responsibility for the company's IT systems as well as providing technical support for security systems. As well as designing I project managed complex installation and high profile clients.

As the company’s technical supervisor I commissioned systems and carried out audits of engineers and systems. One major project I commissioned was a national CCTV installation across 600 sites. I visited these sites to ensure they were all installed and performed to specification, rectifying any issues.

Working as an engineer for Viscount Alarms I learned all the installation and testing skills as well as the principles of security systems. During this time I worked on varied sites including Petrol Stations, Industrial Units, Private Residences as well as Offices.

I joined JHG as an electrical apprentice after leaving school. I passed my City & Guild qualifications to become an electrician and then became an approved electrician by 1994. I received the apprentice of the year award in 1990 and passed all exams with distinctions.
