Managed the programming office in the Cleveland area, supporting 20 enterprises. Maintained contacts with 10 vendors, on both technical and non-technical issues. Performed all development and maintenance on the PC drivers for the Competitive Edge Point-of-Sale product in both ILE RPG/400 and VB6. Managed all aspects of online payment systems for Competitive Edge, representing over $100 Million in transactions per year.Designed and implimented support for direct communication to TCP/IP attached devices from ILE RPG/400 programs.Was on the development and maintenance team for Competitive Edge on the AS/400, coding as necessary in CLLE/400, ILE RPG/400 and VB6. When needed, I also worked directly with customers to create new functions not offered in the base package. Continually updated the VB6 PC driver for new hardware and features, including the SurePOS 500,600, and 700 series cash registers, and OPOS support for generic hardware.Performed all aspects of installation and maintenance on two AS/400 development systems, the associated Ethernet LAN, and the Internet connection in the office.

Managed all Data Processing services and equipment for the company. I was the company's first full time IS professional.Supported applications included Order Processing, Inventory, Purchasing, A/R, Regulatory Management, Materials Management, Manufacturing Control. Diagnosed and corrected problems in the RPG/400 and CL/400 applications software, co-ordinating problem resolution with Software 2000, (the applications vendor).Developed custom applications including Waste Profiling, and an Electronic Reporting system for the Ohio EPA. Developed a Parts Washer Order Generator, utilizing Visual Basic, including client server access to the AS/400 database via both APPC and HLLAPI interfaces.

The company was supported by an IBM Advanced 36 and a large number of workstations and PC's running emulator software.Performed troubleshooting and enhancment of System/36 RPGII code for various applications. Performed minor PC diagnostics, software and system driver upgrades.

On site with Green Circle Growers. A commercial greenhouse, based in Oberlin, Oh. 5th largest in the U.S., the company was supported by an AS/400 and a large number of PC workstations, and some PC LAN workstations.Performed Hardware and Software support, diagnostics, repair, installation and troubleshooting of both networked and non-networked hardware and software.Developed a new application, a bar code label generator, coded in CA Clipper, for label generation, updating a Novell LAN resident database.Enhanced an AS/400 application, in RPG/400, primarily associated with a retail point-of-sale application in one of the greenhouses.

Publishers of the Retail/2000 Point-of-Sale solution, the IBM DMAS Retail/2000 Point-of-Sale solution, and the SET/36 and SET/400 hand held terminal applications.Participated in the development and maintenance of Retail/2000 on the System/36, and in continuing customer support.
