In January 2024, I was honored to be appointed as the Chief Investment Officer for the University of San Francisco's Student Managed Fund. During my tenure, I successfully led the fund's growth from $2.4 million to $3 million by the end of May through strategic investments, insightful financial analysis, and robust teamwork.Beyond achieving significant financial milestones, I focused on revolutionizing the educational environment for finance students. Recognizing the need for an expanded, hands-on learning space, I spearheaded the acquisition of a new room, tripling the size of the original "Bloomberg Room," which initially had only two Bloomberg Terminals for real-time financial market analysis. I aimed to create a space where students felt a sense of belonging and inspiration, not just a place to use Bloomberg Terminals. This initiative was highly successful, with the majority of students expressing that it was the best semester they had ever experienced in college.This initiative not only tripled our capacity for hands-on, real-world learning but also introduced various amenities aimed at meeting student needs for engagement and creativity. From providing a small conference table and snacks to fostering a collaborative atmosphere, these enhancements have significantly impacted the students' academic journey. The expanded Bloomberg Room and our proactive educational strategies have cultivated a strong community spirit among the students. Many have expressed that this class, coupled with the opportunity to engage closely with their peers in this new, dynamic environment, has resulted in their most memorable semester at USF.This overwhelming positive feedback serves as a testament to the value of positive leadership and self-sacrifice.
