Electrical Engineer (Contractor)
I am working in the design of a controller board. This board includes an Altera FPGA, DDR3, SPI RAMS, a Marvell Ethernet Switch device, interfaces for 4 Ethernet 100 Base-T ports, RS485, RS232, A/D, a Fan Controller and both switching and LDO Power Supplies. A function that is paramount in thisboard is current sensing and a breaker function that forces a pass transistor to turn off when too muchcurrent is detected. As of today, most of the board has been checked out by software and myself andfunctions as expected. This work also involved working with the layout designer in determining theboard stackup, trace widths, breakout of planes, component placement, impedance and matched length ofsignals. I also have had to create tools for testing.Part of my duty as a member of the team also includes reviews of other boards and system integration. This led me to help out with the layout of some of other boards as well and helping out with some minordesigns used for testing.I am using Cadence/Allegro as my schematic capture and layout tool.
Sr. Electrical Engineer (Contractor)
I worked in the testing of an avionics thruster unit. This included cabling, testing, writing testprocedures and analysis.
Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (Contractor)
I worked in the design of boards utilized in Ethernet switching systems for Cisco. These boards contained power supplies, Ethernet controllers, USB 3.0 and high speed signals of 10GHz and higher. My work involves design, schematic capture, working with layout, routing, fab-out an troubleshooting. I used Cadence 17.2 as my schematic capture tool.
Sr. Electrical Engineer
I worked on cards that are utilized in the power control industries. I had to do update on some cards with new components and functions. These included a new backplane board and two relay logic cards. My work involved schematic capture, working with layout and testing. I also have had to do some work with Verilog programming. As part of my functions I have had to troubleshoot problems with the system as well as participate in design reviews.
Electrical Engineer
I worked on mixed signal electronic boards used in the medical field. This included design work on a display controller board, a front panel interface board, and work defining system and design requirements for a wireless shutter system. I also designed small PC Boards to be used for a portable battery powered smart nicotine device and similar boards for other applications including flexible PCB’s. This work includes schematic capture and layout. Designed circuits included mixed signals, I2C and SPI devices, opto-coupler interfaces, RS232 and USB, Power Supplies, a System on a Module (SOM) and Bluetooth . I also had to work on the PCB layout, determine the stackup and the PCB placement of the components. I used Cadence 16.6 for the schematic capture/pcb tool.
Sr. Electrical Engineer
I supported several Defense design activities. This included work on a front panel board, a controller board and a remotely power “boat” drone. This work included the schematic capture and layout of various circuit boards and systems for manufacturing and prototyping and helping out with written government proposals and other engineering tasks such as design reviews and trouble shooting.• Used Mentor/Viewlogic as the Schematic Capture Tool and for PCB design work.• Used Visio for some drawings.
Sr. Electrical Enginer
I worked in board design for small infrared camera systems. This design work includes Embedded Systems and Digital and Analog circuits. • Used Cadence as the Schematic Capture Tool and Layout.• Performed Debugging and have had to interface with Software, FPGA and Mechanical Engineers• Have had to perform design evaluation and various Design Reviews• Designed Power Supply, Analog Interface, and Test Development Boards plus determining cable assemblies, test plans, and procedures.• Worked in the total system concept and design.
Design Engineer
Worked in the design of small 2.5G wireless network modules. This involved the design of the wireless network modules themselves and their supporting development kits. My design work covered the Baseband devices which included: o Digital and Analog Processors, o Memory, o Audio, o Keypad and LCD Display, o Battery Charger , o Connections to the RF transceiver and other peripherals• Used PADs as the Schematic Capture Tool• Did Layout using PADs- Performed careful routing of high speed clock and Data/Address Lines• Debug and Troubleshooting• Interfaced with Software, Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineers in dealing with any issues• Audio testing• Sustaining engineering work for various modules, type approval modifications of designs and component evaluations. • Other designs for Daughter Cards for WLAN, and Bluetooth
Hardware Engineer
Worked as a lead hardware engineer for Cellular phone designs. These were 2.5G and 3G GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS phones for the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz GSM Bands and the UMTS bands.• Design/customer support• Layout verification and customer feedback• Customer training• Trouble-shooting and analysis of design issues and concerns• Audio Testing• On-site System Testing
Lead Hardware Engineer
Interacted as a Lead Hardware Engineer with customers designing GSM and GPRS cellular phones using the SkyWorks chipset. This chipset was composed of a Base-Band Processor with a built-in DSP, an Integrated Analog Processor with Audio/CODEC functions, a Power Supply Device and two RF Devices. Directed and assisted the customers in designing this chipset in their phones and how to interface them with other devices such as Memory, Melody, LCD and Camera devices.• Verified layout and provided feedback and comments. • Performed training for customers. • Performed trouble shooting and provided solutions to problems with Software engineers.• Kept abreast with issues from other designs and from our main design center and provided feedback to customers in areas of concern.• Provided direct help to our customers when trying to pass industry testing.
Hardware Electrical Design Engineer
