What do you call an overthinking human passionate about visual media and ethnographic research? A visual anthropologist, but I also go by Armina 👋Like most of us on this platform (and planet!), I grew up loving stories. It’s a universal drive to learn about and understand the world around us. But what do you do with this drive in your day-to-day life?↳ I harness it in my work as a UX researcher—where I combine curiosity and empathy to uncover and highlight user and consumer needs in the business development process. ↳ I also channel it in my undercover work as a festival organizer and occasional documentary filmmaker—where nonfiction storytelling becomes the main vessel for the never-ending challenge of making the world safe for human differences. The tools of my trade may vary—but they are always empathetic and accessible. At the end of the day, storytelling should be about communicating compassionately and insightfully to your audience. From my experiences conducting anthropological fieldwork and qualitative analysis of human behaviour 🔍 I’ve learned to pay attention to the interplay between tiny details and high-level findings.From my background in film studies and documentary filmmaking 🎥 I’ve refined my ability to use visual methods to further question and understand cultural realities. 🍵 Do reach out if you’re also curious about how qualitative and visual research can inform universal questions about these puzzling creatures we call ‘humans’ 🐾
