I specifically remember in the 3rd Quarter of 2017 working on a very complex modification of a large regional Retail Center with over 100 tenants. Armin, up to that point, had not had a great deal of experience with Retail/Office leasing. However, he put in many hours to learn the intricacies of the asset type and the subject leases, and built out a very impressive Excel model to fully quantify the project’s cash flows. In 2018 Armin began supporting me in my role by managing over $100MM of my portfolio. Yet again, I was very impressed at how disciplined he was in managing his responsibilities, always making sure to manage deadlines accordingly. Specifically, Armin took guidance very well and consistently produced an excellent work product. One of the assets we worked on together had a very complex ownership structure. Again, Armin made sure to put in the extra hours to ensure he fully understood the project and subsequently exceeded expectations. In summary, Armin is both a hard worker and a very thoughtful person. I know he will have a very bright future ahead of him. Armin will be a very valuable team-player throughout his career. In doing so, he pushed me and everyone around him to be better. Armin was always incredibly reliable and deadline-driven, producing high quality analysis and write-ups in the process. No task was too big or too small for him. He understands the value of hard-work better than most and it is obvious in his approach to get the most out of each day. I would routinely find him still working after all his peers had left for the evening, often on “extra-curricular” assignments he sought out to assist other lines of business so that he could expand his experience. Even after putting in his notice that he would be leaving US Bank to pursue a challenging new opportunity, he kept his foot on the accelerator right up past 5:00 pm on his last day, working to finish a high-quality credit write-up for a deal he had been covering. I believe he knows no other way than to put his best foot forward at every turn. While he is highly driven by success, he is as good and heartfelt a person as he is talented. He is always willing to pitch-in to help a teammate and takes a genuine interest in everyone he meets. In doing so, he formed lasting bonds with his colleagues at US Bank and has been greatly missed since moving on. When I first met him, the singular word I associated with him was “intellectual”.
