At CoB we have developed a circulair concept for roasting coffee at minimum CO2 emission by collecting the coffee waste and turning it into methane gas. With the gas we roast the coffee and our van is also running on CNG (transporting coffee and coffee waste. In future we also we like to have a methane production in the countries of origin of the coffee, to minimize the CO2 emission over there as well.

from the 1st of January 2013 I'm the dga of Triqua International BV. This company is specialized in world wide solutions for membrane operated systems (especially containarized solutions), biofilm technology, activated sludge systems and fysical/chemical solutions (e.g. heavy metal removal and reuse).

After being a consultant for 8 years, I started Opure BV in 2004. Our focus is on biological processes in wastewater treatment and solid waste digestion. This involves research on these processes on our own laboratory as well as consulting / trouble shooting in the field. In addition to this we also supply nutriënt mixes, carbon sources and granular sludge. Innovation is important to us, that's why we are also involved in developing processes for producing circulair products like calciumnitrate and potassiumnitrate from digestate. Also we developed a circular process for roasting coffee (for Circle of Beans) and together with the company Van der Knaap a special process for producing nutrient rich water for bio-vegetables grown in greenhouses (Forteco Organic Systems). We have a lot of different industries as customers, as well as governmental organisations operating communal wastewater treatment plants.At the moment we are audited for ISO 9001 and VCA** which enables us to make processes clear and efficient. as well as maintaining a safe working environment.

In the first years I carried out projects focussed on trouble shooting at industrial wastewater treatment plants, a lot of the projects involved operation of pilot plants at site or in laboratory scale. This was for the department Biology, led by Prof. Sabine Kunst. In the mean time I worked on my PhD, Nitrification processes in toxic wastewater. I got my degree in 2000 and from that time I worked as consultant 1,5 more years for the institute.
