Technical manager of Load Balancing plateform.R&D, design, implementation and operate of an enterprise grade load balancing plateform at scale based on HAProxy. Manager and technical referent of 6 people.I've designed and built an innovative load balancing infrastructure, to replace a legacy and monolithic technology, based on market-standard : baremetal servers, Debian Linux, HAProxy, and network BGP Multipath with EXABgp.Starting with two people with a first step on R&D, we benchmarked softwares and hardware to find the best proposal to fit our needs, like network card (Intel, Mellanox), SSL offload card (Intel Quick Assist) or load balancing software (NGinx, HAProxy). We worked to find a way to make them working together at scale, automated, and in a cost-efficient way.We design the whole infrastructure, keeping in mind our target : build something strong, reliable and easy to maintain at scale. We've implemented the information system, including API, billing, databases, and automation based on robots that drive the infrastructure, in an original way, based on idempotent and highly available concept.We also develop an innovative way to announce IP on network based on HAPRoxy, Debian systemd and EXABGP.Infrastructure is almost autonomous, everyting is automated, from the order of baremetal server, to the deployement of customers configuration (masterless Puppet), including server configuration. Stack monitored with Shinken and self-healing included.I was the technical referent and manager of the team, including workload and roadmap definition, priorization and scheduling based on Jira. I was responsible of R&D process, results, and valuation (promotion on OVHCloud summit, reseach tax credit). I was also in charge of the management of team : one to one, annual interviews, skills management and carrer development. I recruit people to build the team, started from two people, the team was composed of 6 peoples before i moved to another project.
