I am a second year graduate student pursuing Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Ohio State University. My research is based on studying the role of nucleoside transporters - ENTs and CNTs in efficacy and toxicity of nucleoside analogue therapies. I am targeting ENTs to reduce the toxicities stemming from chronic NRTI exposure with the goal of improving treatment adherence and patient outcomes. Along the lines of NRTI, I am also studying HIV biology and the effects of NRTI toxicity on viral lifecycle. I am further working on chemosensitization of pancreatic cancer cells by modulating cell surface nucleoside transporters to improve drug uptake and cytotoxicity.As a part of my research training, I regularly work with cell, molecular, and analytical techniques as well as genetically engineered mouse models.
