In Dr. Frank Slack's lab, I undertook an R programming project analyzing RNA seq data, to investigate gene transcript usage changes in diverse shRNA gene knockdown models of a crucial leukemia gene. Simultaneously, I led a wet-lab CRISPR project, successfully designing and gene-editing a human cell line with introduced tags for the transcription factor p53. This experience at Harvard Medical School, within a competitive, international environment, enhanced my skills at the intersection of wet lab techniques and computational biology.Additionally, my contributions to plasmid construct designs for expressing Covid spike proteins were featured in a publication in Cell Reports (November 21, 2023).

In the Alexandrov Group, I explored the metabolome of cancer cells undergoing EMT. My project spanned wet lab as well as bioinformatic aspects, including cell culture, MALDI-MS, fluorescence microscopy and image registration. Through this, I obtained single-cell metabolomics data, which I analysed for metabolite signatures with custom differential analysis scripts in python.

During my Master's program, I rejoined my previous work-study company PEPperPRINT, to assist during a critical period of workload surge. As a Temporary Full-Time Analyst in the Service Team (3 months), I conducted Excel data analysis and generated visualizations and reports about it. Additionally, I implemented automations with macro scripts for ImageJ.

In the Brors Group for Applied Bioinformatics, I focused on identifying brain-metastasis specific gene signatures in primary tumors. Employing various bulk RNA Seq datasets, I conducted differential gene expression analysis and gained proficiency in programming and statistical analysis packages within the R language.

As a member of Faith Osier's international research group, I explored natural killer cell responses to malaria-specific antigens, comparing individuals with acquired anti-malaria antibodies to naive subjects. This involved hands-on experience with immunology and cell culture techniques, including isolation of Natural Killer cells from patient samples, conducting Plasmodium parasite blood cultures and performing custom immunoassays and ELISAs.

During my undergraduate studies, I undertook a voluntary internship with the Hedestam research group at Karolinska Institutet. Focused on investigating the causes of impaired B cell differentiation in immunodeficiency patients, my project aimed to optimize culturing conditions for a human B cell differentiation assay. I conducted human B cell isolation from patient blood samples to perform differentiation assays and analysed them via flow cytometry.
