Experienced in building 100% of all modules in a highly complex multi spectral retinal imaging system for optometrists and ophthalmologists.Specialized in the most difficult optical assembly modules of the device and was the only person to complete this task on every device built over an 8 year periodDeveloped specialized cleaning techniques and tools for modules that originally had high fail rates during the early stages of R&DSpecialist in cleaning and assembling precision optics, beam splitters, mirrors and many different unique lens' Built individual modules using manual and motorized tools, torque tools, special adhesives and locking compounds. Tested individual modules using testing devices and recording in a pass/fail data base.Reworked modules that failed testTested complete units using computer, manual software and jigs built to detect artifacts in the optical path.Reworked the extremely sensitive optical path until it passed the incredibly high pass fail criteria.Worked with Engineers to develop improvements to modules to make the device more manufacturing friendly while adding new features.Traveled to multiple cities in Canada and the USA to clean, repair, train and upgrade units in the field.Traveled to Beijing, China for 2 weeks to train 5 Technicians and their Supervisor in the cleaning,troubleshooting and repair of modules in the device.  While in China I helped in the procurement of specialized tools and equipment and cleaning solutions to help them carry out their repair and cleaning regiment  Completed incoming inspection on parts using precision measuring instruments including microscopes. Parts included precision optics that had high failure rate in the finished unit unless near perfect.Looked after all social media for the company including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

• Built prototype wavelength selective switch (WSS) for reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) market.• Prime operator for Optical gluing of AR coated window to Waveguides as well as switching lens’ to Corner cubes using microscope. • Extensive use of UV light curing and Oven baking of devices.• Helped Write detailed work instructions.

• Built Prototype Erbium Doped Amplifiers.• Prepared components, measured Erbium absorption, fusion spliced and routed fiber in a small chassis. Reworked units when necessary. • Improved Erbium splice recipes as well as other specialty fibers thus increasing the Amplifiers performance.• Improved on assembly procedures and updated work instructions.• In charge of a detailed maintenance log for the upkeep of equipment.
