“Choose a job you love & you’ll never have to work a day in your life” describes my experience working in higher education & my recent transition to a non-profit organization. The transferable skills I used to develop & actualize student access & success initiatives have been immensely beneficial to me in my current position developing strategies & partnerships that move families toward economic security & the attainment of their personal and career goals. My performance outcomes in both sectors serve as evidence of my ability to thrive in multiple environments.Among the several professional achievements that reflect my “why”, being selected by the Fab Foundation & Chevron as the recipient of a $1 million dollar grant following a competitive search to establish the first Fab Lab in the Gulf Coast region is definitely a highlight. As an advocate of educational access, I was proud to drive the process that afforded students, small businesses, & entrepreneurs within the community, a resource not otherwise available to them in the form of a state-of-the-art STEM fabrication center.Beyond my career, I serve as a volunteer on various boards & as an active member in several public service organizations. I am also intentional in making space for people & things that matter most to me.I embrace the challenge to work on behalf of the 8000 families in our organization’s network & my commitment is to leverage my executive-level experience & leadership skills toward that end.
