  • Edmonds South Snohomish County Historical Society
    Vice President, Board Of Directors
Edmonds South Snohomish County Historical Society Oct 2022 - Present
    Edmonds, Washington
I am currently driving a major capital campaign to completely reimagine the guest experience within our Edmonds Historical Museum. Among other responsibilities, I have also the been the chair of the governance committee and responsible for the oral history project. The governance committee assures that the organization is operating in accordance with its By-laws, vision, mission and strategic direction with sound financial management, compensation practices and fiscal and governance policies; and helps them evolve to take us into our next 50 years. Our museum is housed in a former Carnegie Library building, and we are redoing our exhibits to make them more interactive and immersive; in part, leveraging our growing collection of oral histories. We are also planning an additional museum and satellite educational spaces to house and leverage our collections. A photo book that compares today’s Edmonds and Snohomish County with images from a hundred years ago has also been published. I also represent the Society on the Edmonds Creative District Advisory Committee. We are the first Creative District in Washington state.
