About Arno Biesmans

As a Lead Engineer within the Application Infrastructure team, I am currently working with a focus on Azure. I am the main responsible of our core Azure infrastructure, bicep code and YAML pipelines. Within our team, we are also responsible for the overall governance of our Azure tenant (management groups, subscriptions, policies, billing, Entra, ...).I have an engineering degree in computer science, with a specialization in cyber security and (distributed) networks. I have an extensive background as a system administrator, developer and systems engineer, professionally and as a volunteer. I've spent five years developing my own applications and plugins, hosting a whole array of infrastructure and managed critical perimeter network infrastructure. On top of that I've spent some time in a more senior position, coaching more junior developers and leading my own small team of system administrators.I like to help people, and am very easygoing, open-minded and flexible person. People know me as honest, dedicated and reliable, someone who you count on to be there when needed and who will get things done. As an analytical and creative person, there is nothing I love to do more than solving problems by figuring out how things work and coming up with the most practical solutions.
