As lab manager I was responsible for the laboratory organization of the department where 6 research groups did their experiments. I was the senior technician in the research group of Laura van ‘t Veer. In that role I was involved in the training of new employees and had an organizational role for maintaining equipment, inventory and reagents. In this position I worked together with postdocs, PhD students and independently on the following (breast) cancer related projects. • Setting up a functional assay for the estrogen receptor• Correlating the mutation status of the ATM gene with breast cancer susceptibility• Discovering a gene profile for the prediction of Tamoxifen treatment outcome• Determining P53 mutation status in lung tissue of healthy smokersUsed technologies: Yeast 2 hybrid assay, Protein truncation test, standard mol biol techniques: PCR, Sequencing, southern blotting, cloning, DNA recombination, Micro arrays

Worked in the experimental endocrinology department on the working mechanism of estrogen receptor, used techniques: binding experiments with radioactive hormone, protein purification, fotospectrometry, tissue culture and small surgeries on rats.

Worked in the biochemistry department on the function-structure relation of the nuclear matrix, used techniques: Protein separation and purification, SDS PAGE, development of monoclonal antibodies, western blotting Immunofluorescence, tissue culture, micro injection, electrofusion.
