I am also a doctoral candidate at the faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT). My research project consist of a case study on a unique vocational community mental health programme. I completed a Bachelor in Education (University of Paderborn, Germany, a Master of Psychomotor therapy (University of Marburg, Germany) and a Master of Health Sciences (University of Canterbury). I also completed several certificates at AUT (Fitness Instruction and Personal Training) and Te Wānanga o Aotearoa (Business Management, Money Management, Tikanga Māori). I am an active Toastmasters club member and served the organisation in various senior executive roles such as club president and Area Director. I also completed several advanced leadership and communication awards. My interests include personal development, spirituality and Māori culture.I lead an active and healthy lifestyle and love reading, writing, photography and outdoor activities.

My role in Christchurch was to establish and facilitate a physical activity/healthy lifestyle intervention for people with mental health issues, including creation of tailored support plans, reporting, marketing, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, training and mentoring other staff members. Since July 2014 I co-facilitate a unique project for people who are long-term unemployed and are willing to volunteer their time to give back to the community and prepare for re-entering the workforce. Currently I am also a doctoral candidate at AUT, Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences and conducting a case study on the above mentioned project. For my Masters I conducted a mixed-methods study about the above mentioned healthy lifestyle intervention in collaboration with the University of Canterbury, Faculty of Health Sciences. This included semi-structured interviews with participants, (2) the analysis of pretest-posttest data, and (3) the analysis of a service user satisfaction survey. These studies led to several publications and conference presentations. See my CV for more information.
