Operated and maintained 11 wastewater treatment plants across the Taupo district with a close knit team of 5 operators as well as address alarms after hours when on callThe role included:- Managing plant process through daily checks- Identifying process faults either through visual inspection or trends via SCADA- Making process changes where required to ensure proper nitrification and waste activation - Asset renewal of plant equipment e.g. Turangi balance pond pumps impeller build up removal, soda ash pump seal replacement, belt replacement of blowers etc.- Lab testing waste activated sludge for volatile acids, alkanlinity, pH, MLSS etc.- Condition based monitoring of plant equipment through daily checks and running hours - Routine maintenance e.g. belt press and sprinkler arm greasing- Managed overflow of effluent during cyclone Gabrielle - Managed nitrogen dispatch to irrigation fields at Rakanui and View Road in order to meet resource consents - Planned and carried out minor projects e.g. valve replacements from plastic to stainless- Gained knowledge of microbiology
