In 2013, I took over the responsibility of the Vienna Office of EPEX SPOT, the European Power Exchange headquartered in Paris. I actively contributed to establish EPEX as the preferred marketplace for short-term power trading it is today in 13 European countries.As part of the public & regulatory affairs and communication team, I represent EPEX in Austria, Poland and fulfil a pivot position in the so called Core region – consisting of Central West Europe and Central East Europe. Furthermore, I foster close contacts to the Western Balkans and handle several dossiers at EU level. I monitor and evaluate energy market regulation, steer regulatory and operational implementation projects, report on characteristics regarding EPEX’s strategy, development and business design. Before I joined EPEX SPOT, I worked in the energy sector for ten years as legal counsel, compliance manager and head of the respective staff units. I believe in life-long learning and have a passion for conveying my expertise. Thus, I have continuously been invited to give lectures on energy law and economics at various universities. I represented EPEX SPOT and the EU energy sector in various contributions and presentations at numerous conferences in Europe, India and China.
