Our company, Fuse Breakers Inc., consists of students from third to eleventh grade. This is our first robotics competition. In 2021 our team’s ROV, Nautilus, has many features that help it to complete missions for this year’s tasks. Nautilus’s claw and hook allow the ROV to retrieve plastic waste objects from the rivers to the bottom of the Mariana Trench and cull an outbreak of Crown of Thorn sea stars to save the coral reef population. Our ROV’s camera allows us to observe the surroundings and environment anywhere the ROV is placed, which gives us the ability to fly a transect line over the coral reef while surveying the reef population. Due to COVID restrictions, our team can only meet remotely.
