Hello! I am Arnold Teo, and I am currently an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education in Singapore teaching Chemistry and Mathematics. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with Specialisation in Medicinal Chemistry (Highest Distinction) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2021.My teaching interests involve using novel and innovative methods to communicate Science effectively, especially to students who are averse towards the Sciences. I am also interested in issues pertaining to inequities in education.Outside of teaching and education, I also have interests in Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Synthesis, having worked on related research projects in my undergraduate years. Apart from the Sciences, I am a firm believer of being inter-disciplinary, and I have a particular interest in cultural anthropology.

Taking advantage of techniques like UV photo-crosslinking and click chemistry, we aimed to identify novel phospholipid-binding proteins in Gram-negative bacteria to gain a better mechanistic understanding of bacterial outer membrane biogenesis. This would ultimately have implications on drug target identification and treatment of Gram-negative bacterial infections.
