I am part of the Operational Technology Excellence Center at the Tessenderlo Group’s headquarters. It is a technical , high-impact role with social skills, powering the key element of Machine automation & Robotization. In my role I support/advice the different Business Units in having, reliable and up to date automated manufacturing production lines. In other words I am working on the factories of the future.It is a creative job that starts from developing robotizatrion/industrial automation concepts, helping the organisation change their way of working, examine for the best supplier to in the end making the business case for the Leadership Team. It is challenging and interesting because I communicate with all layers in the organization, from operator to the management. It involves Custom-automation-machine-designs, Robotic-machine-feeding-solutions, Packaging-lines, Autonomous-transport (AGV), Automated-warehouses, Recognition-vision-technology, etc.,

Together with the gained experience as Design Engineer I develop new concepts together with the client, to achieve more efficient and safer offshore drilling units. My strength:I use the background of mechanical engineering combined with the soft skills when I am in consultation with the client. Important for me is to listening to the aims and wishes of the client to come up with the best solution for the client.My secondary function is ambassador.I like to work with people and to make them enthusiastic for the field of engineering.

As Design Engineer I am responsible for basic designs, detailed designs and design calculations for new machinery. I instruct Draftsmen/Design Engineers at the Czech production facility. I offer solutions to engineering issues within our production departments. I come up with options for upgrades and repair possibilities for existing equipment and I consult with customers and other engineering disciplines.

Graduated Design of a new type of bicycle (assignment is confidential)

After finishing a project with a group of 4 students the design was not finished. I decided in consultation with Skil Europe to finish the design and build a prototype. The result was a working prototype.

Graduation project: Designing a hull of a solar boatDesigning and building a solar boat with a multidisciplinary, international team (The Netherlands, China, Germany) of 7 students. Besides the engineering aspects the project involved organizational aspects, like recruiting sponsors. With the team we joined the Frisian Nuon Solar Challenge,a 250km solar boat race.We have won the innovation award.

Designing micro-mobility vehicles with the use of CAD 3D software. Activities included research and development for Giant Bicycles and designing a maintenance-free bicycle.

During the internship I was responsible for a maintenance book for a crop rower. At this company I worked intensive with CAD 3D (ProEngineer 2000).
