Arnoldo is co-founding partner at Sustainable Solutions for the Biosphere, consulting services on climate, nature, ESG and digital solutions. Previously, he was partner at EY providing sustainability and climate change services from 2023 to July 2024. He was also founding partner and executive director at Ithaca Environmental, a consulting firm providing counsel on adaptation and mitigation to climate change, resilience and renewable energies. Arnoldo also founded and was the first General Director of Mexico City´s Resilience Agency. From 2014 to 2018, he leaded the design and implementation of Mexico City´s Resilience Strategy as its Chief Resilience Officer, a position supported globally by 100 Resilient Cities promoted by the Rockefeller Foundation. He has also worked for the OECD, and in projects for UNDP, IDB, CAF, GIZ, DFID, TNC, C40, SEMARNAT, INECC, SEDEMA, Aleatica, among other organizations. His professional experience includes climate change, adaptation, resilience, risk assessments, nature-based solutions, low carbon development, sustainability and mobility. Currently, he teaches at the Faculty of Architecture and is tutor in the Sustainability Science Postgraduate Program at UNAM. He holds a doctorate in geography and environment from the University of Oxford. He completed his undergraduate studies in political science at McGill University and has two master’s degrees, one in environment and resource management from the BTU Cottbus and the other in renewable energy from Reading University.
