My knowledge and experience complements Bird & Bird's key focus on innovation and the energy sector.I am a Partner in the Tax team, based in The Hague. With more than 14 years of experience, I am an all-round tax professional advising on tax matters regarding corporate transactions, financing, IP (re-)structuring, real estate fund investments, joint-ventures, private equity investments, transfer pricing and telecom/fixed infrastructure transactions, with a particular focus on the Energy & Utilities and Automotive sectors. I often act as the clients' main contact and sparring partner.I specialise in the structuring of corporate foundations, non-profit organisations as well as Dutch and international charitable funds. Furthermore, I advise clients on energy taxes, electric mobility, tax incentives relating to innovation and energy, VAT on services and betting and gaming taxes. I'm a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers, the International Fiscal Association, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Southern African Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (SANEC) and the Dutch Association of Tax Science. Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2003, I studied tax law at the University of Leiden.

  After obtaining my decree in Tax Law at the University of Leiden and started my career as a tax adviser at Bird & Bird in The Hague in January 2003.
