As a Family Care Counselor Supervisor, I managed the daily operations of a Florida Preservation Services of Florida, Community Based Care (CBC) Dependency Case Management (DCM) unit, which identifies and assesses client and family needs of minors placed in care by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) due to abuse or neglect by caretakers, with the ultimate goal of permanency. I supervised DCM and support staff, and coordinated service delivery to ensure that client needs, program goals, and contract objectives were effectively met.While my unit handled cases of any nature, we specialized in ICPC and Sex Trafficking cases. Supervised staff including regular individual and group staff meetings and case consultations, including in the capacity of acting-Program Director as needed. Assigned cases and related duties to staff and oversaw service delivery. Provided support to case managers dealing with crisis management; provided on-going assistance in coordinating services for clients. Assisted with the identification of staff training needs. Provided and/or arranged training for new and existing staff on a regular basis. Provided guidance to case managers by coaching, motivating, training and providing other staff development activities. Developed training and staff development plans with each staff member. Reviewed and monitored case files for both internal and external quality assurance standards. Reviewed and ensured that staff completed all documentation and reports in a professional and timely manner. Reviewed assessments and case plans with case managers, and provided consultation/direction to assure appropriateness, clarity, quality and thoroughness. Ensured service delivery complied with contractual requirements. Prepared and conducted staff performance evaluations, including progressive discipline when appropriate. Maintained and generated necessary reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
