I was really intrigued with everything when I started at Samancor Dikwena Chrome, the level of professionalism and safety was really a thing to take note of. I started as an apprentice and that's where I learned a lot about the mining industry, I was exposed to a lot of challenges and simply great opportunities to play a role in making my mark.It's a smelter mine and produces Chrome, but that wasn't their only concern, they wanted their employees to feel safe and welcomed at the company, they shared a lot of their beliefs with us.Coming to my work, well as an apprentice I was given a chance to prove myself that I can be the best and what I do. Did installations of new circuits and connected a lot of motors and did a lot of fault finding.
