Responsible for all programme management activities relating to the Part VII Court and regulatory engagement process, including design of the programme organisation and governance structures, budgets and recruitment of workstream leads and other project staff. This included working with the client, the Lloyd’s market participants and Lloyd’s external advisors, including its external lawyers and the Independent Expert to help ensure that there was effective UK and overseas regulatory engagement. The Part VII was ultimately approved by the High Court and became effective in time for Brexit completion. -

Primary focus was on the development of the regulatory policyholder notification exercise, including development and drafting of all communication materials, web design, press advertisements, response management design and development, including supporting the training of outsourcer staff. This also included the review of all policyholder objections and sign off of final responses. The engagement required close liaison with the Independent Expert and FCA relating to all Part VII responses, which included the development of a weekly Management Information pack that was also provided to the client’s Board. Provided close support to the client’s exec team ensuring effective engagement with both the PRA and FCA and development of all the High Court materials, including Witness Statements, resulting in the successful approval of the transfer to Scottish Equitable. -

This included the c.8m policies and c.£110bn assets and liabilities, transferring the business from 7 life companies to an eighth with a significant rebrand of an English legal entity to Scottish Widows. This was, at the time, the largest non-life insurance business Part VII Transfer to date. The role required extensive cross business stakeholder management, including regular Scottish Widows Group Board and Insurance Executive and Risk Committee engagement and leading the ongoing PRA and FCA engagement. Responsible for the end-to-end business case with a £35m budget. The programme was delivered successfully on time and within budget delivering major rationalisation and material capital benefits through a key period of change for the Lloyds Banking Group Insurance division. Whilst finalising the operational delivery of the Part VII, I was also asked by Lloyd’s and Scottish Group CFO’s to establish a Post Day 1 transition programme to manage the separation of the Group's non-core international business to the RL360 Group in the Isle of Man, which included the divestment of a small insurance business transfer through the Isle of Man and Hong Kong Courts. -
