North TIER is a partnership of 14 school divisions, including Germanna Community Colleges. The partnership offers online professional development to educators throughout the DMV and beyond. The courses focus upon understanding how to purposefully leverage technology for learning within the context of the curriculum. The courses blend the best of virtual learning with best practices of teacher-facilitated longer-duration professional development. With a completion rate of over 92%, North TIER is an extremely successful example of collaboration amongst school divisions.My role:- Chair the organization including strategic vision and plan, budget, and outreach- Manage online course development including course revision and long-term upkeep of course content- Write and revise online content- Oversee course offerings, including catalog development and web presences- Interface with learners and instructors-Set policy and interface with Colorado State University for graduate creditOther:- Led successful transition to non-profit status from State of Virginia Consortium that was federally funded

The Systems and Design Group supports the instructional model for nearly 190,000 student and thousands of educators within Fairfax County Public Schools. The team connects the curriculum, assessments, and digital resources through an assessment engine, curriculum repository of digital assets and curriculum, and in the moment and longitudinal data.My role: - Manage the instructional use of the integrated Learning Management System, the tools providing teacher access to vetted curriculum and resources, assessment delivery and creation, and complex data for decision making for each learner. - Manage a team of specialists that interface with curriculum coordinators in development of assessment and learning objects used throughout the school division- Participate in a variety of initiatives surrounding the use of technology for learning including: - Performance Based Assessment - Supporting all phases of divisionwide assessments including materials development, communications, and coordination between multiple departments and offices - The strategic use of technology as a driver of learning and best instructional practice - Envisioning learning analytics within the preK-12 setting that empower student-led reflection- Served as Instructional Services lead on transition to the new integrated LMS system accessed by over 200,000 users - Structured project teams around Knoster Model of Complex Change - Coordinate project with IT Project Manager to ensure mission success on a multi-phase implementation - Interface with senior leadership to provide vision and overall direction of project - Manage project leads - Interface with vendors including purchasing, project implementation, training, and divisionwide rollout - Oversee transition and work with vendor and internal teams- Developed Teacher Share, allowing crowdsourcing of educational resources within FCPS.
