Gis Planner
Current- Creation and upkeep of a variety of standard maps in multiple media formats, including interactive web maps for use with ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS experience builder, to effectively communicate district attributes and statistics to the planners, executives, and board members that keep Albuquerque Public Schools moving forwards.- Creation and maintenance of annual workflow GIS data, including geocoding the 75,000+ students in the district.- Drone lead for the GIS division within the Capital Master Plan department. Duties with this position include the creation of a maintenance schedule for the four drones housed by the GIS department, pre-flight planning, carrying out frequent drone flights of school/district sites, and post-processing of all flight data to output a high quality final product.- The position involves significant amounts of quality assurance/control both inter- and intra- department, and requires communication between different departments within APS, and within the county/state. Attention is paid to displaying the data in a way that enables the map audience to get the information they need, and this is often an iterative process of map critiquing.- Played a critical role in division-wide data cleanup and archiving to assist in a department-wide shared drive reorganization and standardization. Maintained a working document of archiving and clean-up progress, whilst updating metadata for all GIS files.
