As a result of this effort we filed 3 patents and generated two new product expansions / roadmaps for deeper inroads into cloud security.Almost immediately after beginning that effort, I was called upon to help with fundraising, where we managed the unique accomplishment of being offered a seed round within 7 minutes of starting our pitch to a top investor from the bay area.Post raising the seed round, I was tasked with overseeing the marketing function and generating public awareness about security in the cloud space, as well as CipherGraph's unique approach to cloud security.The insight from this experience was funnelled into the strategy I helped build to pitch CipherGraph to investors in the Bay Area for a Series A round, to differentiate in a crowded cloud-security space that had already seen $300M raised. Our differentiation generated tremendous interest amongst the top funds.As a consequence of challenges raising this round (we were too early for a startup not based in the valley), I pivoted to focus on revenue generation, where a combination of partnerships, optimization of our AWS MarketPlace offering, and talking directly to customers helped us take CipherGraph's revenue from near-zero to more than $50K USD annually in just two months, and generated two potentially game-changing partnerships with Fortune-500 class companies.Bottom Line: An utterly unique experience working with a small but exceptional team in US and India, and building a global technology-infrastructure company in a challenging environment.
