He took up his first management role at Virtual Reality Technologies (Singapore) in 1995, building online MULTIPLAYER games, virtual worlds and VR simulations. By 1997, he was appointed Managing Director and held a concurrent role as CEO of Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) developer Paraworld (APAC) from 2000 to 2001. In 2001 he founded Interactive Digital Dreams (IDD) making strategic investments in “All Things Digital”. From 2004 to 2007, IDD formed a joint venture with European game developer and producer 10TACLE STUDIOS AG where he took the role of CEO (Asia Pacific). Aroon was part of the IPO management team in May 2004, and IDD exited in August 2007. Other investments include Magma Studios (2005) and ShiftRunner (2016).From 2005 to 2018, Aroon was co-founder at Magma Studios focusing on “Challenging the way we play”. In partnership with Carnegie Speech, Magma Studios developed an MMOG called LINGO Online where kids from 8-12 levelled up as they improved their spoken English.Aroon also held the roles of President/Chairman/Vice Chairman at the Games Exchange Alliance (GXA) between 2004 to 2012, a non-profit organisation involved in expanding the capabilities and infrastructure of Asian game developers and service providers. Aroon led multiple trade missions around the world with the support of Singapore Government agencies including: Media Development Authority and Infocomm Development Authority (now Infocomm Media Development Authority) and International Enterprise Singapore (now Enterprise Singapore).From 2015 to 2018, Aroon was CTO and Executive Producer at ShiftRunner. Transmedia projects include PANDOO Nation (MMOG) and PANDOO VR Series “Agents of Change”.
