My master's degree thesis project was entitled "In silico study of African swine fever virus towards the design of an epitope-based vaccine", which was developed in close relationship between ISGlobal and IRTA-CReSA (Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal).For this project we assessed and downloaded full African Swine Fever Virus proteomes from public databases, and used personally developed scripts, as well as publicly available tools, in order to identify potential epitopes for a prospective vaccine, through means of reverse vaccinology.✔ In-house scripts developed in Python.✔ Use of biological databases: UniProt, PDB, NCBI, IEDB...✔ Analysis through several bioinformatics tools: epitope prediction (IEDB tools, NetChop, TAP binding, Bepipred...), cell sublocalization (SignalP, TargetP, PredGPI...), protein structural analysis (TMHMM, NACCESS, PyMOL...), as well as more general tools and algorithms such as BLAST, CD-HIT and MUSCLE.

In addition to my responsibilities as Alumni Coordinator, I was also in charge of managing some of the internal communications and the social media channels of the institute.✔Manage and supervise the information that appears on the ICFO screens: update news, seminars and events.✔Contribute to the development of articles related to Alumni or institutional and community activities for the ICFO web and its newsletter. Secretary of the Newsletter Committee and content contributor.✔Management and planning of ICFO's social media channels, maintaining its presence and monitoring its activity. Interaction with users and other entities. Devise social media campaigns in coordination with other units to increase the visibility of ICFO.

My main task was to keep the ICFO Alumni Network active, encouraging the participation of former researchers and their connection with current ones, following the strategy of ICFO with the aim of creating an extensive, active and interconnected network of contacts.Maintenance and improvement of the Alumni database————————————————————————✔Search and add missing alumni, update information on each one and encourage the members to regularly update their information.✔Interact with service providers to apply new improvements in the system and provide technical maintenance✔Extraction and analysis of data from the Alumni Network database using software such as PowerBI to make reports and proposals for improvementExecute action plans of the Alumni program———————————————————✔Organize events and meeting points for Alumni (San Francisco, Munich and Barcelona)✔Publish and update contents in the Alumni online site (news, events, photographs, information about new members)✔Guarantee an efficient transition from "current researcher" to "alumni", so that the new member immediately becomes an active part of the network.
