With years of experience in engineering, design, and research, I am a system-level as well as detail-oriented problem solver who aims to advance in the field of automotive engineering. I have a Master of Science degree in Automotive Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, one of the leading technical universities in Europe, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechatronics from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.Most recently, as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika), I worked with brilliant leading researchers in the field of automated driving. I produced a scaled vehicle based on ROS, with an Nvidia AGX Orin and sensor package (stereo vision, wheel and inertial odometry, realtime kinematic GPS) with the aim of easing access to Automated Driving topics and experiments for students and researchers alike.Previously I applied my skills independantly to design, prototype, and manufacture RFID antennas at Times-7 Research, which was at the time a very small start up. I performed all non-radio related engineering duties, including CAD (Solidworks), injection mould and extrusion tool design, all product documentation and marketing materials (Adobe suite), RoHS/REACH compliance for export to the EU market, and a business case for in-house CNC machining, which lead to drastic improvements in cash flow and quality control.After moving on to WSP International Consultants (formerly Opus) research office I joined multidisciplinary research teams surrounding the traffic network. Focussing primarily on instrumentation, robust data collection and timely data analysis (Matlab) my work formed the important base for research conclusions. A highlight was the rapid turnaround study of bridge-joint noise emissions, involving an instrumented vehicle, calibrated microphones, automated data analysis and report generation (Matlab) for 300 sites, submitted to the client in under 3 weeks.I am a lifelong learner and am currently further upskilling with additional languages, programming languages and tools such computer vision and machine learning. I am fully equipped to be part of a hybrid or remote work arrangement as I have been working and studying this way for the last few years.
